New for 2016 HF Holidays has introduced a host of fantastic new destinations for you to explore.
Today’s tale from the boot room comes from Stephen Purdham HF Holidays’ Europe Product Manager and here he tells us why Chinon is the place to be in 2016 and what makes it so special.
Spotlight on HF Holidays’ new destination for 2016 – Chinon, Loire Valley
“When you think of visiting France, you imagine fine wines, classic French chateaux and wide flowing rivers – you’re thinking about the Loire Valley, which features all this and much more. This area is known as the Garden of France and Valley of the Kings, due to its seemingly impossible number of breathtaking chateaux.
Explore this region with us, staying in medieval Chinon, with its cobbled streets and half-timbered houses. The town has close links with our own history: the castle was a preferred residence of Henry II, and Richard the Lionheart was born here. It is also the site where Joan of Arc inspired the French Dauphin to reclaim his crown.
Our guests stay in the charming, family-run Hotel de France, a restored 16th century residence retaining the history of the building, but cleverly combining this with modernity and comfort. We’ll explore this fascinating region on foot with walks through vineyards and between pretty villages, as well sightseeing opportunities, including the magnificent Chateau of Chenonceau.
Discover diverse cultures and savour the local cuisines on a European walking holiday.
New for 2016 all walks transport are now included in the price of your holiday!
Explore with HF Holidays on foot and take time to discover Europe’s magnificent mountains, glorious coasts and fascinating islands.
Thank you Stephen for sharing your insight of Chinon it sounds tres bien!
