Our UK,  European and Worldwide Guided Walking holidays offer a choice of walks each day, so you can choose what suits you best.

Most of our holidays also include a day with no planned walks, so you can explore the area or relax and make full use of the facilities at our UK Country Houses and partner hotels.

Don’t just take our word for it though.

I love HF. Before becoming ill and now unable to hike but hoping to participate in some Discovery Tours or City Breaks, I look forward to some future trips. I did Walking or Walking and Sightseeing Weeks in Ireland, England, France and Italy. Great leaders, wonderful scenery, fantastic food and I have made some lifelong friends. I think I did 12 or 14 trips, two of them (Sorrento and Malta) two weeks each. I love the UK country houses. The small hotels in Europe and Ireland were great as well. I have introduced five or six friends to HF and they also had fab trips. One of my English friends just did her 3rd walking trip in St. Ives which is where I did my first one in 2000. I considered two ads in a walking magazine and HF beat out Ramblers as I remembered reading haunting tales by Du Maurier, I think, about Cornwall. That one trip convinced me and I did HF every summer, one Christmas and two spring vacations. Great times.

I first heard about HF through my local Ramblers group. They were always talking about the various holidays they had been on. So I thought I would find out about this and booked a 3 day holiday at Bourton-on-the-water. I had the most fabulous 3 days holiday. We had the same walk leader so I asked him how he became involved in leading, not for one minute did I have any aspirations to become one myself. At the end of the holiday he suggested I apply to become a leader, so I did. Two seasons later I’m leading and loving every minute. The thing I like the most, apart from the walking of course, is the people you meet and the leaders I have worked with. They have all been so inspirational and generous with their knowledge. Thank you all so much.
